Unethical Business Practices - Buyers Club


I was told on years I didn't want to pay the Activity Fee I simply didn't pay. The billing company added the Activity Fee to my open credit account without mine or my husband's authorization. That tanked my credit score because the account no longer had 30% of the balance paid off. The agreement didn't say that the Activity Fee would be added every year automatically. I didn't know I have 45 days to ask for the charge to be removed. I never knew to look for additional charges on this bill. The money comes out of my bank account every month. I just had to make sure I had enough money in my bank account for the bill every month before the due date. I didn't even know the balance had changed until I tried to buy a home for my family and had a credit report ran. Then I had to back track and figure out why my balance was so high. The monthly payment didn't change so that didn't tip me off that the balance had changed. The billing company website online statement said they mailed me a statment in Nov. for Dec. I don't remember seeing that bill. If I had, I would have called them right away. I believe this is unethical business practices. I pay my bill on time every month. I am not able to afford a vacation this year because I am saving for a home. I had no intention of paying the Activity Fee this year. Even if I did want to travel I wouldn't want my fee added to my bill. Because of the interest charges. I would wait until I am ready to travel and pay for my fee and vacation all at the same time. Just like the program was sold to me.
